Mike Bell

Bell’s prestigious career has seen his work exhibited as far a field as the USA, Germany and Holland. A life dedicated to the arts saw Mike take over as head of Art at Wearside College before retiring in 1996. Living on the beautiful Northumberland coast for 25 years has developed his interest in structure, texture and composition with his recent work taking inspiration from the patterns and colours of the abundance of oil seed rape and poppies, along with the Otterburn Ranges and Kielder Water resulting in work which promotes feelings and perceptions rather than literal observations.
